As a club, we should be in Europe every season and, when you look at the set-up we’ve now got manager and owner wise, we’re an attractive proposition.
Of course, things need ironing out but I think we’re heading in the right direction once more after last season’s woes and with a new stadium on the way, too, we’ve got cause to be cautiously optimistic.
Now, then, we need to start underlining our ambition as the chief contenders to break into the top six and getting after Jamaal Lascelles would do that.
Newcastle might be a big club but Mike Ashley will always take the money and we’ve got the cash to go and get a top centre-half like the Magpies man.
Certainly, we’re a bigger club than them and it would be nice to see us starting to act like one more with player recruitment.
I know it would take some effort but we’re a team you’d want to play for with obvious areas we’re going to grow into.
It’s time to make a move.
