Marco Silva’s tenure at Everton was a huge talking point last season as things started on the cusp of being acceptable and tragic but soon fell off the boil entirely, leading to many supporters calling for the Portuguese head coach to be sacked over the winter.
Early dropped points at newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers and away to Bournemouth bookended a tough win over Southampton, with Huddersfield, West Ham and Arsenal soon ensuring we had to wait until late September for another three points.
Brief signs of promise followed by holding out Chelsea and keeping Liverpool at bay until deep into stoppage-time, but only the would-be relegated duo of Fulham and Huddersfield put fewer points on the board between December 1 and February 25, with Silva’s men recording three wins and two draws in 14 games.
February 26 brought about another win, though, as we thrashed Cardiff City 3-0, and began a run of form that would only be bettered by Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea – with the Pensioners playing one game more and recording one extra point.
The new season has started with many signs of promise, as well, with Silva overseeing a draw and a win, without the Blues conceding any goals.
For some supporters, this has presented them with a chance to reflect on where they see the boss’ tenure heading, and whether they are Silva in, or Marco out…
Well we were awful most of last season. Football has been poor at times and he’s got so many Roberto Martinez similarities its mental.

I want him to do well, but I’ve not seen anything yet to suggest he’s going to be able to push us on and up. For me, all progress being made is down to Brands and the players he brings in. This squad should be capable of being successful.

Silva has been the best manager we’ve had in awhile! Gets the best out of our players!

Too many reactionary fans in football if we lose next week more fans will say Marco Out. Happy we stuck with him and hope we do for next few years

Has to be in right now. We evaluate in May, if it’s a year of progress he stays, if he’s the issue, he goes. Simple enough!

I wouldn’t have a clue to why people would want him out now
— James Martin (@JamesMart02) August 18, 2019
Who would the 2% bring in that want him out? It’s one thing calling for a manager to go, but who’s available? Always makes me laugh that. Plus the turnaround at the club since Koeman, Walsh and Allardyce is nothing short of stupendous.

Not sure how anyone can say Silva out tbh, just needs the players in to play to his style, which has started to pay dividends.
