Everton are due to announce our new Umbro kits for the 2019/20 season later this week, with the first-team set to wear the strip for the first time when we take on Kariobangi Sharks in Nairobi on Sunday as part of our pre-season tour of Kenya.

Some Toffees supporters have already been debating a potential design they would like the English sportswear manufacturer to utilise for our new home shirt, by taking inspiration from the throwback template they used to create West Ham United’s 125th-anniversary strip based on the Irons’ triumph in the 1980 FA Cup.

It would be unlikely that we see a similar design used for our latest kits, and a recent snap from Finch Farm would suggest that will be the case.

Blues fan u/alfiesyrett posted on the Everton Reddit page on Monday a photo taken from the club’s training ground, which included three separate kits that each used the same base design.

Each used the same stylised graphics base which looks reminiscent of a tyre tread, with one kit taking on a deep blue much darker than our usual Royal Blue, while another was cyan with orange detailing and the third was white and grey.

Other fans were quick to point out that there were no Angry Birds sponsor logos on the sleeves, however, while some suggested the strips would likely be used ahead of our games during the warm-up or in training.

There was also a carrier bag in shot that someone had written ‘EFC Ladies’ on, so fans were not getting too carried away about the chances that these designs will be our new Umbro kits…
