‘Sounds alright’, ‘Basic’ – Some Everton fans react to supporter’s suggested kit design

|

Some Everton supporters have been reacting on Reddit to a suggested kit design one fan has put forward, with the official reveal still some weeks away.

The suggested strip comes courtesy of u/Blueberry-Blumpkin, who noted West Ham United’s new kit for next season during a search of other designs being used by Umbro for the 2019/20 campaign.

Like us, the East London outfit signed a new multi-year technical partnership with the sporting goods manufacturer earlier in the year, as they were also set to part ways with the English sportswear brand at the close of the 2019/20 season.

While we have to wait until the first week of July for our latest home kit, and even later into the summer for the away and third strips, the Hammers announced their design in May, and will take on the upcoming term with a design celebrating their 125th anniversary.

The kit was inspired by their class of 1980 who won that year’s FA Cup, while taking on the look of a late 1970s Admiral design they wore in varying forms for five years, with a solid light blue upper section breaking from an otherwise all claret body and shorts.

Inside the blue segment are thin claret strips, which do not run into the shoulders or sleeves, while their away strip for the upcoming season is entirely white.

As Everton have already confirmed that our new home kit will not be revealed until the week leading up to our opening pre-season friendly against Kariobangi Sharks in Nairobi, Kenya on Sunday, July 7, some fans have been pondering what the design may look like.

So when u/Blueberry-Blumpkin shared his suggestion that a blue version of West Ham’s kit could suit us, this is how these Toffees fans reacted on Reddit
