Explained: Which midfielder wants to leave Everton before the transfer window shuts?

|

Beni Baningime has been on the periphery at Everton for some time and has wanted a loan move away this month – the 21-year-old hasn’t made a first-team appearance since April 2018 and finds himself stuck in the u23s.

Baningime has been on the bench twice in the Premier League this season but has spent most of the campaign out of the matchday squad as he’s low down the pecking order.

The DR Congo midfielder finds himself behind Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Fabian Delph, Morgan Schneiderlin, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Tom Davies under Carlo Ancelotti, just as he did under Marco Silva & Duncan Ferguson.

There’s little chance Baningime will get a reprieve with so many players standing in his way, so his only option is to leave Everton in pursuit of first-team football.

With the 21-year-old having two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, there’s plenty of time to fight for his Everton future. A loan move might be the best temporary solution, but Baningime is running out of time to locate a suitor. The transfer window shuts in a week’s time.
