Explained: Everton may have to pay £17.8m and £1.34m wages to sign Juventus man

|

According to Di Marzio, Everton are keen on Moise Kean and have held talks to bring the Juventus forward to Goodison Park. Kean has an uncertain future at the Old Lady with his contract expiring in 2020. He’s rejected a new deal in the past which may force Juve to cash in on his signature rather than risk losing him for nothing next year.

The 19-year-old joined Juve from Torino in 2011 and rose through the youth ranks to the first-team in 2017. He’s gone on to make 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating nine goals. Kean has even scored two goals in three games for the Italian national team. He has a bright future, but his future is uncertain.

Everton are looking to strengthen their attack, with Cenk Tosun expected to be sold this summer and Marco Silva needing support for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Kean won’t come cheap, though. He was valued at £17.8m in 2018 and has was demanding £1.34m-a-year in wages from Juve in April.

Whether Everton win the race for his signature remains to be seen, however, as Juve are still tying to tie Kean down to a long-term deal. The striker even played down exit talk earlier in June and said he only wants to play for the Old Lady.
