Our 2019/20 Premier League schedule was announced this morning, with Everton kicking things off on the road to Crystal Palace on August 10.
The last time we faced the Eagles, we drew 0-0, but had beat Roy Hodgson’s side when they ventured to Merseyside earlier in the campaign thanks to goals by Dominic Calver-Lewin and Cenk Tosun. History does favour the Blues to take all three points, though, having emerged victorious 20 times throughout the club’s history, having faced the Selhurst Park natives on 49 occasions.
Our early season run then sees Everton welcome Watford to Goodison Park, before facing recently-promoted Aston Villa on August 24 and Wolverhampton Wanderers on the 31st.
The first Merseyside Derby of the campaign, meanwhile, does not come until December, with the reverse fixture pencilled in for March 14.
Marco Silva’s men also face Burnley on Boxing Day, Manchester City on New Year’s Day, and will end the season against Eddie Howe’s AFC Bournemouth, who we beat 2-0 the last time they ventured to our home.
Unfortunately, while our final three games look somewhat favourable, December is ram packed with tough fixtures, with our trip to Anfield followed immediately by ties against Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal. We then face the Gunners, Red Devils, Blues, and Liverpool in a row again between February 22 and March 14.
Following the announcement of our 2019/20 Premier League fixtures, this is how these Everton fans reacted…
