Everton will allow Sean Dyche to make ‘3 or 4 signings’ in order to bolster his squad before the end of the January transfer window, with the funding likely to come from the sale of Anthony Gordon to Newcastle United, according to recent reports

Everton looks set to appoint former Burnley manager Sean Dyche as their new manager in the next 24 hours following the sacking of Frank Lampard on Monday evening.

The toffees currently sit 19th in the Premier League table with just 15 points under their belts, only off the foot of the table on goal difference to Southampton.

Despite needing reinforcements, they have been fairly inactive in the January transfer window due to financial issues. However, with Anthony Gordon now set to join Newcastle United for around £45 million, they could be quite active in the next few days.

According to Mark Douglas, Everton plan to allow Sean Dyche to make 3 or 4 signings before the end of the January transfer window with the money gained from the sale of Anthony Gordon [via Inews.co.uk].

Dyche was very restricted in terms of transfer budgets during his time at Burnley, often being given around £30 million to spend in windows to bolster his squad.

Once Burnley’s current owners completed their takeover of the club last season, Dyche was given much more money to spend on transfers, bringing in the likes of Wout Weghorst and Maxwel Cornet for club record fees.

If Kevin Thelwell is given full control of transfers for the rest of the window, Everton could end the window with a much stronger squad if they invest their newly found funds correctly.
