Leighton Baines’ Everton under-18s side earned their 4th win of the season after a 5-1 victory over ‘struggling’ Derby County, with a few impressing.
The young blues had a tough start to the U18 Premier League season, losing their first 3 games all by a single goal.
However, they would earn their first victory against reigning champions, Manchester City thanks to an early Roman Dixon goal.
In their last fixture, they won the U18 Derby 2-1 over an in-form Liverpool side, giving them a lot of confidence going into their game against struggling, Derby County.
The blues would open the scoring in the 14th minute thanks to a Harry Evans own goal and would double their lead through Martin Sherif 3 minutes later.
16-year-old midfielder, Jacob Beaumont-Clark would score Everton’s third just after halftime.
One of Everton’s brightest prospects, Coby Ebere would then get his goal after winning and scoring a penalty just after the hour mark.
Adebayo Fapetu would grab a late consolation for Derby but Everton would rub salt in the wounds of the Rams through young striker, Troy Smikle-James with the game ending 5-1 to the toffees.
A trip to Manchester United is their next port of call and Baines’ side will be hoping to capitalise on their good form.
