Everton have apparently given up on trying to sign Kieran Tierney this summer from Celtic and are instead now looking at Tottenham’s Danny Rose.

The Blues are looking at both centre-halves and left-backs this summer as our defence continues to age.

Certainly, it’d be ideal to get both positions sorted before the start of the campaign but it seems as though Tierney is going to remain at Celtic and not be part of our solution.

Instead, the Sun thinks we’re going to try and bring in Rose who has Champions League experience with Tottenham as well as obviously being out in Russia at the moment at the World Cup.

The Verdict

Rose would be a very welcome signing.

He seems to have lost a bit of stock thanks to recent injury but, let’s be honest, he’s still one of the best in the league and would be some signing for us.

Such ambition would be a real statement.
