Everton striker ‘being assessed’ ahead of Norwich clash, was ‘expected to recover’ in time

Cenk Tosun is ‘being assessed’ ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Norwich City, according to Premier Injuries. The 28-year-old has been out of action with a groin injury during the international break that caused him to miss Turkey’s 0-0 draw with Iceland (November 14) and 2-0 win over Andorra (November 17).

Tosun was ‘expected to recover’ in time to face Norwich over the weekend, so there’s a good chance he could keep his place in the starting eleven. Prior to the international break, the centre-forward came off the bench and scored in Everton’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham (November 3) and started in their 2-1 win over Southampton (November 9).

He racked up only 35 minutes of Premier League football between August and October but has 96 minutes to his name in November alone. Silva could look to Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Moise Kean in Tosun’s absence, but no decision has been made on the 28-year-old.
