Everton have signed 37-year-old goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic on a short-term contract following the recent injuries to Jordan Pickford and Andy Lonergan.
He was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina but is a Switzerland international who has played for Hull City, Lokomotiv Moscow and Grasshoppers Zurich, he recently became a free agent after leaving Leicester City after having spent 5 years at the Midlands Club.
Jakupovic will strengthen Everton’s goalkeeper choices after Jordan Pickford sustained an injury in the 0-0 Merseyside Derby and is set to miss out until after the international break at the end of the month.
Andy Lonergan, Meanwhile, will be out for a number of weeks after recovering from a knee injury.
Are Everton’s goalkeeper woes a worry or is Begovic and Jakupovic good enough cover?
