Yesterday Everton confirmed that goalkeeper Jordan Pickford sustained a thigh injury during last week’s Merseyside derby and is expected to be unavailable for around 3/4 weeks, Everton say the England number one will be back after the next international break. Via (Everton)

With Pickford injured and 3rd keeper Andy Lonergan also side-lined Everton’s keeper options are Asmir Begovic and Billy Crellin which could leave The Blues no choice but to explore the free agent market to bring in a temporary replacement.

Reports suggest that it may not happen due to the timescale of Jordan Pickford’s injury and how it falls with the international break meaning that Asmir Begovic will be the main cover for the next 2-3 games, Via (@David_Ornstein)

Everton correspondent Patrick Boyland from The Athletic also said “Everton have considered looking at bringing in a free agent to help fill the gaps left. But veteran Lonergan should return after the international break, while Begovic is considered to be solid cover for Pickford. As a result, it is unlikely they will bring someone in”.

Do you think Begovic is good cover and how much will we miss Pickford?
