From the neutral perspective Everton fans may come across delusional for being in a positive way after the first 6 games despite losing their opening 2 games and drawing the other 4 but after Saturday’s great performance in a goalless Merseyside Derby, Frank Lampard had nothing but praise for his team and rightly so.
Frank Lampard mentions the youth and experience in the squad and how they play a huge part in the squad with him saying “People like Conor (Coady) and Tarky (James Tarkowski) are from the back, Alex Iwobi in the middle playing the way he’s played since I’ve been here – just outstanding”. New signing Neal Maupay started his first game on Saturday and its one hell of a game to be thrown into being the Merseyside Derby, but Frank Lampard was impressed with the Frenchman’s first game in an Everton shirt, when asked how he thought Maupay played he said “I thought he did great. I thought he worked really hard. it’s not easy against Liverpool” he then goes on to talk about his golden opportunity in the second half but knows the goals will come for the forward.”
Much to fans delight when FL was asked about his ever-growing connection with the fans he said” and “I hope the fans can go home happy and have a pint with their mates tonight and understand that this club is working in the right direction and the results will come from that”.
I for one have faith in the boss and HIS Everton side.
