Everton look set to have completed the signing of Villareal winger Arnaut Danjuma on a 6-month loan deal with an option to buy at the end of it, according to recent reports.

Frank Lampard’s side is desperate for attacking reinforcements in the January window, having only scored 15 goals in their opening 19 Premier League games this campaign.

Demarai Gray and Anthony Gordon still sit top of the club’s scoring charts this season having scored 3 each.

Plenty of players have been linked with a move to Goodison Park already this window, with Moussa Dembele and Lucas Moura two of the latest to be linked with making the switch to the Merseyside club.

However, Everton look to have almost completed their first signing of the window.

According to transfer specialist Santi Aouna, Arnaut Danjuma’s preference is to join Everton on loan for the rest of the season, with negotiations currently underway for the 25-year-old between Everton and Villareal.

Reports from The Telegraph also say that the Toffees have beaten the likes of Southampton, Nottingham Forest and his former club Bournemouth to the Dutchman’s signature.

Danjuma has scored 22 goals in 51 appearances since completing a move to Spain in 2021, despite having struggled for constant game time this season.

He was the Spanish side’s star performer in the Champions League last season, scoring 6 goals in 11 games in the competition in a single campaign.

The priority for Kevin Thelwell and Frank Lampard will now be to get the attacker signed before midday today so that he is available for their trip to West Ham.
