It’s back. It’s finally back. Everton return to Premier League action for the first time in three months later this evening.

The Toffees kickstart with a bang as they welcome arch-rivals, Liverpool, to Goodison Park.

Merseyside derby prediction?

Toffees win

Reds win

But what sort of side will Carlo Ancelotti name? He’s been dealing with a wrath of injury concerns, so the side may look a little weaker than expected.

Here’s how we predict they’ll line up tonight…

Everton predicted XI vs Liverpool

The Italian won’t be able to call upon Theo Walcott, Yerry Mina, Fabian Delph or Jean-Philippe Gbamin with all four players set for a spell on the sidelines as per the ECHO.

He will, however, be able to utilise central midfielder Andre Gomes after he returned to training this week.

The 26-year-old will surely be partnered by Tom Davies with other key players missing. Either side of them could be Bernard on the left and Alex Iwobi on the right as Ancelotti continues with a fluid 4-4-2 system.

Who did Everton sell Nikola Vlasic to in July 2019?

It means Richarlison partners the in-form Dominic Calvert-Lewin in attack whilst there is no place for Gylfi Sigurdsson – much to the delight of the home faithful, you’d imagine.

The back four looks a little different to the Chelsea defeat with Seamus Coleman replacing Djibril Sidibe on the right. English duo Mason Holgate and Michael Keane will play in front of fellow countryman Jordan Pickford with Lucas Digne on the other side of the defence.

Who do you think should play? Is it time for some of the youngsters to get an opportunity?
