Carlo Ancelotti’s side hardly kickstarted their return to Premier League action with a bang, but they did pick up a very decent point against the division’s runaway leaders, Liverpool.
The Toffees even had the better chances of the two teams after Dominic Calvert-Lewin forced Alisson into a last-ditch parry, and Tom Davies’ follow-up was stopped by the woodwork.

Holgate is quickly becoming one of the first names on the teamsheet under the Italian having featured 22 times in the top-flight this campaign, via Transfermarkt, who also value the emerging English talent at just Β£12.15m.
The 23-year-old picked up the highest match rating (7.8) of any player that started, as per SofaScore, and also recorded seven clearances, four interceptions and two tackles.
It’s led to calls from the Toffees faithful lauding him as one of the best young centre-backs in the Premier League whilst others claimed he was “outstanding” and “excellent”.
