Everton, Newcastle United and Chelsea all eyeing Brazilian wonder-kid

|

The phrase ‘wonder-kid’ gets thrown around a lot these days, and according to CaughtOffside Everton are set to rival Chelsea and Newcastle United for Brazilian youngster Andrey Santos and Lucas Pedrosa (Twitterclaims, Everton have been in ‘frequent contact‘ over a move for the midfielder.

Andrey Santos who currently plays for Vasco da Gama, played an integral role in getting his side back to the first division in Brazil during the 2022 season, scoring 8 goals in 33 appearances. Santos primarily plays just in front of the back four and could be the ideal replacement for Idrissa Gana Gueye who turns 34 next September.

With Everton bringing in three central midfielders last summer, (James Garner, Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gana Gueye) it seems a position that Frank Lampard wants to stay on top of, and with Abdoulaye Doucoure and Tom Davies out of contract in the summer and Gana Gueye turning 34 in September, we could potentially lose three central midfielders in the next 7 months and midfield is a position you cannot have too many players, a lesson we have learned the hard way over the past few years.

Lewis Warrington (20) and Isaac Price (19) are both flouring on loan and in the U23’s, James Garner (21) and Amadou Onana (21) the future for Everton’s central midfielder is looking promising and if they can get the addition of Andrey Santos, Frank Lampard and Kevin. Thelwell will have sorted out Everton’s midfield (If they work out) for the next 5-10 years.
