Everton seem to have missed out on the potential signing of FC Genk striker Paul Onuachu, with the Nigerian preferring a move to relegation rivals Southampton over a move to Goodison Park, according to reports.
The toffees have had a worrying January transfer window thus far, with the likes of Anthony Gordon and Nathan Broadhead leaving the club on permanent deals but, as of yet, no incoming to speak of.
Former Burnley manager Sean Dyche was appointed as the club’s new manager on the weekend after the sacking of Frank Lampard. He was reportedly promised some signings to bolster his squad and help him to battle against relegation.
However, with just over an hour in the window, it is becoming increasingly likely that we will see no new incomings into Goodison Park and deals like that for Onuachu are a big reason why.
According to The Athletic, Everton are set to miss out on the potential signing of FC Genk striker, Paul Onuachu. The Nigerian now looks set to complete a move to relegation rivals Southampton for a fee of around £21 million.

Nathan Jones wanted a physical striker and Southampton's improved offer convinced Genk to accept. Looking like a huge day for the club.

Everton are obviously not short on cash after Anthony Gordon left for Newcastle United last week for around £45 million.
We have now seen the likes of Onuachu, Danjuma and Sulemana reject a move to Goodison Park this week alone.
Thelwell and the Everton board now have just over an hour to save their club from relegation, but it is looking bleak.
