According to Cronache di Napoli via CalcioNapoli24, Everton are ready to present their ‘first official offer’ for Allan. The 29-year-old finds himself ‘on the margins of the project’ at Napoli and head coach Gennaro Gattuso ‘does not oppose his sale’ as a result.

Carlo Ancelotti managed Allan at Napoli between 2018-2019 and has been in the market for a midfielder this summer, so it would suit all parties if he came to Goodison Park.

Everton aren’t short of options in the engine room with Andre Gomes, Jean Philippe-Gbamin, Fabian Delph, Morgan Schneiderlin, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Tom Davies, but Schneiderlin could be sold, Gbamin may be injured until 2021 and Sigurdsson might be on his way out too.

The Toffees have been linked with Angelo Fulgini, Franck Kessie, Adrien Rabiot, Morgan Sanson, Mohammed Kudus, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Davide Frattesi, Matias Vecino, John McGinn and Idrissa Gueye, but Allan tops their list.

The Brazilian international has made 203 appearances in all competitions since joining Napoli from Udinese Calcio in 2015, scoring 10 goals and making 16 assists.

Whether Everton are willing to match Napoli’s asking price while meeting Allan’s €6m-a-year wage demands is another story, however, as Cronache di Napoli say the Serie A giants want €40m-€10m less than the Toffees are offering.
