Everton lower asking price for in-demand ace as fresh offer comes in – report

|

Paris Saint-Germain are understood to have lodged a fresh €25million (£22m) offer to sign Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye, per reports in L’Equipe.

The French publication is reporting that PSG are rushing to improve their midfield now that Italian ace Marco Verratti has been sidelined with a sprained ankle.

It is suggested that the urgency to sign a replacement has placed a 48-hour turn around on the deal, with the French giants confident the transfer will be made as Gueye is keen on moving to the Ligue 1.

We wrote on Tuesday morning that La Parisien were claiming the 29-year-old midfielder had already agreed on personal terms.

At the time, Everton were also understood to be holding firm on their €40million (£35.3m) valuation, but L’Equipe’s latest claim suggests that the Toffees are warming to selling at a lower price despite rejecting the latest €25m bid.

The word now coming out of France is that an offer between £30m and £35million could be enough to take the defensive midfielder to Paris.
