Everton flop can secure swift exit but deal would not benefit Toffees – opinion

|

We may be hoping to see Cenk Tosun secure a permanent exit from Goodison Park in the summer, but fotoMac’s report that Besiktas are keen to re-sign him may not be to our best interests.

That’s because the Super Lig side are only interested in taking the flop striker on loan for next season, with their club President Fikret Orman aiming to complete an ‘irresistible’ partnership by pairing the 27-year-old with Burak Yilmaz.

Given his dream stems from playing our man alongside Yilmaz, we really should be looking to sell Tosun and recoup at least some of the £27million we gave them just over a year ago.

And if Orman is hopeful of securing Tosun’s return to the BJK Vodafone Park so they can mount a title challenge, what reason would we have in only loaning the striker to them?

In order for our own strengthening in the summer, cashing in on the forward would be a great way to add funds to both the transfer war chest and free money from the wage bill – Tosun is on a reported £60,000-a-week.

Unfortunately, fotoMac claim that we have been in regular contact with Besiktas, and believe we are willing to loan Tosun to them if they consider making a move.
