Amid on-going protests against Everton’s ownership and dire performances from the players on the pitch, Evertonians displayed that they retain a sense of humour, when a fan pranked GB News with a fake Bill Kenwright quote.

During a segment called ‘Unfiltered Dilemmas’, presenter Andrew Doyle reads messages sent in by viewers looking to seek advice, and received one such query from a Merseyside resident named Bill.

The message stated, “I’ve been in charge of my company for almost 30 years. Almost everyone wants me to leave, but I’ve told them they’ve had good times with me and I should stay in the job. What should I do?”

Clearly unaware that they were the victims of a prank, Doyle and his co-hosts discuss ‘Bill’s’ dilemma, prompting Everton fans to take to social media to share the video.

Of course, the ‘good times’ mentioned within the message refers to a Bill Kenwright quote from January 2022 when the Everton chairman was greeted by protesters outside Goodison Park following a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

With chants of “sack the board” and “let go if you love the club” sung in Kenwright’s direction, the Blues chairman asks how his resignation would help promoting the response, “Because we need a proper board.”

Another fan mentioned the 27-year wait for silverware, to which Kenwright replied, “It’s not 27 years – we’ve had some good times.”

With one individual sarcastically responding, “Good times? Yeah, you’ve had some good times!”

Over a year on from the protests outside Goodison Park and matters have deteriorated further at the club, both on and off the pitch.

A sit-in was staged inside Goodison after the 2-1 defeat to Southampton last week, with further demonstrations scheduled for the visit of Arsenal on February 4th as Evertonians continue to demand change at the once great football club.

The only way change will happen is if EVERYBODY stays away as a protest NOT sit in. Farad and Bill don’t give a hoot about the fans feelings as long as the idiots keep putting money into the club and their pockets by paying good, hard earned money to watch the garbage on the pitch. 0 attendance would do a lot more to show the loyal fans feelings. Imagine the discussion on match of day !
