The Everton Shareholders Association (EFCSA) have called for a vote of no confidence in the club’s board, releasing an online petition which has been shared via their social media pages.

15 points from 19 games leaves the Blues second from bottom, with dire displays by the players twinned with instability at senior level prompting protests from Everton fans.

Manager Frank Lampard is yet to be supported financially in the transfer window this month as Everton take on fellow Premier League strugglers West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday.

The situation has now reached boiling point and today the EFCSA posted a link via their Twitter account to a petition signed off by their ‘executive committee’.

It reads, “In our opinion our club continues to underachieve both on and off the pitch and the relationship the Owner and the Board have with the wider fan base is at an all time low.

“It is with great regret that the Association is asking fellow Shareholders and the wider fan base to sign our online petition calling for a vote of no confidence in the Board of Directors.”

The petition is yet another example of the club’s fanbase voicing the concerns regarding the running of the club, in a situation that seems to go from bad to worse with each passing day.

It is difficult to recall a time when the relationship between Everton’s fans and the club was quite so bad, and drastic and immediate change is most definitely required.

There is little doubt that the club’s fanbase played an enormous role in ensuring Premier League survival last season, with it looking like another tightrope walk for the Blues this term.

The Everton Shareholders Association’s petition currently has over 2,500 signatures and as a concerned fan I have added my name to the list.
