With less than a week remaining in the summer transfer window, the pressure is most certainly on clubs to conduct their transfer business. And it seems that the club are actively working on deals before the deadline strike. One such deal could see Islam Slimani join the club from Leicester City.
According to the newspaper Correio da Manhã, as cited by Sport Witness, we’re favourites to sign the Algerian striker, this summer. With less than a week left to sign players, the club must work quickly to secure the deal.
For much of the summer, Slimani has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium. It’s rumoured that the Algerian international’s former club, Sporting are interested in signing the 30-year-old, but the Portuguese club are struggling to match the Foxes’ asking price.
Accordingly, it seems that we’re in pole position to sign Slimani, and while he has failed to continually find the back of the net in the Premier League, he could be a useful option to have.
