The deal for Barcelona’s Yerry Mina is in doubt and that explains Everton’s interest in Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo according to recent reports.
With Everton being heavily linked with Colombian centre-half Mina for much of the transfer window following his performances for his country at the Russia World Cup, reports are now suggesting that Barcelona are continuing to refuse to lower their demands for the player with speculation that they are holding out for 40million Euros.
Our recent rumour mill interest in Rojo does make more sense on that front but Everton fans can certainly see the benefits in both players given heart of the defence concerns they have.
If we’re unwilling to meet the £35million asking price for Mina, then with transfer deadline day beginning to loom large, it’s sensible we have alternatives so we aren’t left short.
What happens from here though is anyone’s guess but if Rojo, or another, isn’t in soon I imagine we’ll keep both options open and try and see who folds first as the clock starts ticking.
At this stage though, some fans are happy for the club to chase Rojo full stop and tell Barca to jog on. In fact, tell Mina to jog on as he hardly seems to have expressed an interest in us either
£35m for a player who made a total of five appearances for his club last year? Yes, he had a handful of good games in the WC, but Barca demanding £35m is a bit mad.

Well we all saw this coming, we were never an option for him really, as for rojo is he a better defender than wat we have I'd say so so for me I'd take a punt on him, there isn't really a great deal of quality cb around that don't want no champions league football, so get him in

Genuinely not arsed about the lad.
He’s not exactly endearing himself to the fan base.
Let’s get after Mawson and Gibson.

Lascelles would be worth double for the Newcastle melt down as Rafa quits cos Ashley sells and pockets the cash
