Yesterday Everton confirmed that another young talent had secured his immediate future at Finch Farm.

17-year-old striker Manasse Mampala gets his first professional deal having been impressive in 2017/18 with our Under 18 squad. Across the season the DR Congo-born teenager scored eleven goals and contributed six assists in 18 games and he did get himself promoted into David Unsworth’s Under 23 squad – making two appearances before the season came to a close.

Speaking to the Official Site as his new deal was announced by the club’s media, Mampala declared that he simply wanted to ‘keep scoring and assisting goals’ in the year ahead and he was confident that he could do just that owing to the ‘positive vibes’ at the training ground.

Clearly, he’s focusing on having a bigger breakthrough in Unsworth’s Under 23 squad next season and he looks to continue to impress.

Ignoring the now obligatory complaints about ‘this’ not being the signing that some fans expected to find when they checked their notifications, plenty more were delighted to see another youngster taking steps towards their ultimate dream.
