According to the Standard, Danny Welbeck has been told he will not be a regular for Arsenal this season and that has piqued Everton’s interest.
The England international went to the World Cup in the summer but played only a bit-part role and it is clear that he needs to start playing regularly.
Doing that for Arsenal appears unlikely this season, though, and so the Blues, Southampton and Bournemouth are in the race to try and get him in.
Of course, Welbeck has talent and can score goals but his fitness record, for me, is a worry.
I like the CV he has got and you don’t play at that level without talent but I do wonder whether he’d be reliable enough to play every game?
Certainly, if we did sign him I’d also expect another forward to come in just to make sure so let’s see with just two days left in the summer window.
