Lots of Everton fans have been reacting on social media, after the club celebrated Dominic Calvert-Lewin reaching double figures in the Premier League for the first time in his career.

The 22-year-old struck his tenth goal of the top-flight season to double our lead over Newcastle United on Tuesday night, before two stoppage-time strikes from Magpies centre-half Florian Lejeune would see the visitors snatch a point.

Calvert-Lewin had scored our only goal of the game whilst we drew 1-1 with West Ham United at the weekend, and fired a brace against the Toon when we won 2-1 at St. James’ Park on December 28.

He has now riffled the back of the net five times in six Premier League matches under Carlo Ancelotti, having netted twice in three games under interim boss Duncan Ferguson and thrice in 15 during Marco Silva’s final run at the helm.

The former England U21 international had never scored more than six goals in a league season before the current campaign, which he achieved last term over 35 appearances with a minute per goal ratio of one every 295.6 minutes.

Can Calvert-Lewin score 20 Premier League goals this season?

Yes

No

Calvert-Lewin is currently averaging a goal every 147.5 minutes in the top-flight, with Tuesday night’s draw his 22nd outing of the campaign and 17th inclusion in a starting line-up.

Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson were our leading ‘scorers in the Premier League last season after the £50million Brazilian and £45m Iceland midfielder each struck home 13 times.

Sigurdsson achieved his 13-goal haul at a rate of one every 241 minutes, while Richarlison struck his at a rate of one every 206.

Calvert-Lewin’s current strike rate of a goal every 147.5 minutes in the Premier League would be enough to see the Sheffield-born forward hit a further 8.5 goals over the remaining 14 games, should he feature for every available minute and maintain his current form.
