Can Everton finally conclude a deal for Burnley’s England defender Michael Keane? The Toffees are ‘hopeful’ of sealing his signature and that of Turf Moor teammate Andre Gray.

Apparently, the advantage Ronald Koeman could have over rival bidders for Keane is the fact Everton could offer him the best chance of regular first team football at a club in and around the top-four positions, according to the Daily Mail.

Gray’s seemingly excessive, taken with a pinch of salt, wage demands would suggest he isn’t signing a new contract at Burnley so could form a double switch to Goodison Park?

With all due respect, and no disrespect is meant whatsoever, Keane and Gray would be making a step up to join Everton but, as previously said, targeting players from Burnley shouldn’t be seen as the Toffees lower standards – far from it.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has a fine track record of turning good players into even better ones.

If Keane, in particular, does end up at Goodison the England international will make a brilliant addition to the squad, Gray’s shown he can score goals too so he shouldn’t be scoffed at either.
