Sandro Ramirez’s proposed switch to Everton from Malaga, all but signed off several weeks ago, is still expected to go through despite rumoured late interest from Real Madrid.

According to the Independent, La Liga champions Real Madrid, Champions League winners for a second season running last term too, had expressed an interest in the Malaga forward.

This report cited Spanish radio station Onda Cero claiming Sandro had agreed a deal with Real Madrid, which was swiftly denied – on a rival station – by Madrid president Florentino Perez.

A level of interest in Sandro, currently preparing for Spain’s U21 European Championships final against Germany, is thought to exist from Real Madrid but Everton will conclude a deal for Sandro, 21, once the finals in Poland come to an end.

‘The Independent understands that while the European champions have made contact, personal terms were not discussed with Sandro’s agent and the likelihood remains that the player will head for England after his involvement in the European Under-21s in Poland,’ the reported concluded.

Whenever you hear of Real Madrid interest in a player you’re trying to sign you will always show a level of concern but there’s nothing for Everton to fear here, it seems… hopefully.
