With Everton earlier confirming the signing of Brazilian attacker Bernard, it certainly started what became an incredible series of events for Everton fans with Barcelona confirming the transfers of Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

Sky Sports (TV) are also reporting that we might have an unnamed fourth arrival to contend with as numerous deadline day extensions have been granted and it’s believed we have one of those.

More on that later though.

Bernard heads in as a free agent and the 25-year-old has penned a deal at Goodison Park keeping him with us until the summer of 2022.

With 14 caps to his name for his country, he can operate on either wing or as an advanced midfield player and upon completing the formalities of his switch he told the Official Site that manager Marco Silva was key to his decision to move to Merseyside.

“I chose Everton because of all the things I had heard about Marco Silva and after speaking to him I was happy with what he said to me. The manager made me feel confident about playing here. He is a very good coach and he has achieved really good things at other clubs. Everton is a club with a great structure and a lot of tradition, historically the fourth most successful club in England. When I found out about this opportunity and what the manager wanted out of me I was happy.”

Adding.

“That is why I made my choice, because of the confidence both the manager and the Club showed in me. I did not need any convincing to come here. I believe I will be able to show my best as a player here.”

Having spent five years with Shakhtar Donetsk, he helped them win three league championships and three Ukranian Cups and that means he comes in with Champions League experience as well.

Everton fans were rightly delighted to see this one finally get over the line as you can see from the comments on the above Tweets if you click them, but it’s fair to say one other club seemed to spend more time watching us today than their own side.

One down, two more to go – and then possibly that fourth.
