With reports suggesting that Everton still had one iron in the fire on deadline day and that we had got the all-important deal sheet to the Premier League in time to secure an extension to get the paperwork fully done, it’s now being suggested that the player is Frenchman Kurt Zouma.

We were linked with Zouma the other day as a potential option on loan with the Yerry Mina deal supposedly in doubt, and should Sky Sports’ speculation be correct, there should be no problems in getting this deal over the line this evening.

With changes to the deadline window this summer, if it’s a loan deal for the 23-year-old, there’s actually no real rush in many ways as loans can still be organised to my understanding.

He spent last season out on loan with Stoke City and tasted relegation disappointment whilst with them, and despite his highly rated status at Stamford Bridge he’s been restricted to only 43 Premier League appearances following his arrival from St Etienne in 2014, so the deal makes perfect sense for all parties I would imagine.

7pm is the deadline extension and Everton fans are still waiting on official confirmation from the club directly about the captures of Mina and Andre Gomes, but Barcelona have already given confirmation from their end.
