Everton manager Marco Silva has laid down a bold statement of intent during his pre-Huddersfield press conference, which could mark the beginning of the end for the Portuguese head coach at Goodison Park.

Silva was speaking in reference to the club’s recent slump in form when he addressed questions from the media at his pre-Huddersfield press conference, regarding the Toffees’ transfer business.

So far, no new arrivals have walked through the doors at Finch Farm, as the club are tight for cash having spent heavily in the summer to sign Richarlison, Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne.

Now, the Portuguese head coach has stated, via quotes from the Liverpool Echo, that he is in communication with Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright as he looks to make changes to his side.

Silva said: “We are always in contact.

“My job is always difficult when you are working at a club like Everton. No different for the previous managers in the past.

“I’m here to do my job, work very hard and change many things.

“It’s not just about changing players all the time. It’s not about just the players, I know what the club needs also.

“Of course I’m not happy with the last month and a half, with the run but I’m not going to panic.”

The final lines taken from Silva’s press conference will easily be the making or breaking of his time at Goodison Park, as changes are clearly needed to stop the rot of recent dire results.

Everton have won just three of their last 12 games in all competitions, with one of which being their FA Cup win over Lincoln City before stuttering at Millwall on Saturday.
