Marco Silva has a decision to make as Everton receive potential blow – report

|

Marco Silva has a major decision to make as Idrissa Gana Gueye hands in a transfer request amidst reports that Paris Saint-Germain’s offer was rejected.

PSG were understood to have offered the Toffees £21.5million over the weekend, according to Sky Sports, to take the 29-year-old to the French capital, but the offer was instantly rejected by the Blues.

Silva has stated that the defensive midfielder remains a “really important player for us,” but that does not mean the saga is over just yet.

Gueye has been endlessly linked with a move to Les Parc des Princes, after it was first reported that the Senegal international was one of the leading contenders to replace Adrien Rabiot – the French ace rejected numerous contract offers and was placed on the bench indefinitely until his contract expires in the summer.

Now, despite Everton’s refusal to sell, and with the transfer deadline nearing, the Parisian outfit’s efforts are stepping up and Gueye is aiding their quest with reports that he has handed in a transfer request.

Sky Sports News claimed on Monday night that the 62-cap international wrote to club officials begging them to move aside and allow him to fulfill his dreams of playing for the Ligue 1 giants.

However, Sky Sports ran an update in their transfer feed on Tuesday morning, stating that Everton have denied receiving any transfer request from Gueye.
