‘Ban him for life’, ‘I hope the FA sack him’ – These Everton fans are all saying the same thing about latest reports

Marco Silva has endured a troubled time in charge of Everton, and now the Portuguese has got fans talking for reasons outside the ninety minutes as the Football Association are considering taking action against him, according to Sky Sports.

This comes after the former Watford boss berated referee Lee Mason on Saturday for decisions he felt were questionable during our defeat to Newcastle United.

Silva even took to the pitch after the full-time whistle to confront Mason and his assistants, and took particular frustration with the hosts’ winning goal, which came from several Newcastle players attracted to the ball despite coming from an offside position.

The FA will now be investigating the incident, and review what was said by both parties involved before deciding what action, if any, they will take.

Unfortunately for Silva, his timing of the incident is not the best for his chances of avoiding punishment, as Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino did the exact same to Mike Dean when Spurs lost to Burnley last month.

In the end, the FA decided a £100,000 fine and a two-game touchline ban was sufficient punishment for a charge of improper conduct.

If Silva receives the same decision from the Independent Regulatory Commission, it could see the Portuguese forced to watch our upcoming ties with Chelsea and West Ham from the stands, or our clash with Arsenal depending on the speed of the hearing.
