Moise Kean was an unused substitute as Everton suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Premier League strugglers Norwich City on Saturday. The 19-year-old hasn’t played a minute of football under Marco Silva since mid-October and now finds himself behind Richarlison, Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the pecking order.
Since joining from Juventus over the summer, Kean has featured 11 times in all competitions and failed to score. He’s racked up only 288 minutes of Premier League football, however, as most of his appearances have from the bench. Kean’s last start in the league came two months ago in Everton’s 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United (September 21) and fans aren’t happy.
Kean doesn't even get on the pitch. Absolute farce #EFC #silvaout

Moise Kean’s confidence with us must already be low, scores twice for Italy under 21’s so how do we try to help him and keep that momentum going.. by leaving him on the bench and not playing him at all when we need a goal 🤦♂️ #EFC

Kean on bench and he brings on Coleman. Time to go. #efc

As soon as I saw that team sheet I said it was uninspiring and pedestrian. Silva says we lacked pace! You picked the side Marco – Leaving Kean and Iwobi on the bench . Your time is up Marco! #efc

With Everton sitting 16th in the table after 13 games, scoring just 13 goals for their troubles (17th out of 20 teams), it’s surprising Kean isn’t getting a look-in. The 19-year-old scored eight goals in 21 games for Juventus and has five in nine u21 matches for Italy. Silva doesn’t trust him, however.
Should Everton sell Kean in January?
Yes, if it's for the £27.5m we paid
Yes, just get rid
No, he has to stay
Calvert-Lewin (3) and Richarlison (3) are Everton’s top scorers this season, so nobody has been prolific up front. And with Tosun netting just 10 goals in 49 games for the Toffees, Kean must be fearing the worst while Silva remains in charge.
