Without question, Ademola Lookman’s Everton career has failed to prosper as expected. Nonetheless, the 20-year-old demonstrated his quality on loan with RB Leipzig, and recent rumours indicate that the German club are interested in signing the youngster on a permanent basis.

As Goal reports, RB Leipzig have confirmed that they’re interested in signing Ademola Lookman from Everton this summer, and it’s rumoured that we’ve already declined a £12M approach for his signature.

Here’s how Everton supporters have responded to the news on Twitter.

If we’re to sell Lookman, then £12M is frankly sufficient given the current state of the transfer market. That said, I’m hopeful that we can convince the Englishman to stay at Goodison Park and see whether he can prosper under the guidance of Marco Silva.

His quality and his potential are irrefutable, he’s exceedingly gifted, and while he has failed to impress on a consistent basis since joining the club, he should be awarded the opportunity to demonstrate his worth.

What are your thoughts? Do you agree? Let us know!

  • The real truth is that Lookman has not had enough regular opportunities to demonstrate his abilities. Were he to be given a decent, lengthy run in the first team and not used as a substitute when a match is almost over, he might be keener to stay with the club. Leipzig has clearly grasped what Big Sam ignored and now Everton stand to lose a valuable, talented asset. Hopefully Silva has more awareness than his predecessor.
