It was being claimed yesterday that Arsenal had decided to withdraw their contract offer for Welsh international midfielder Aaron Ramsey and their longest serving player was now set to depart the Emirates Stadium next summer.
The BBC were one of many to report the development and I’m yet to see any real reasons for the supposed change of heart as the four-year deal was in place and all that needed doing apparently was writing up the final documents for signing.
The 27-year-old’s future is now open for debate, and a number of Everton fans have thrown themselves into that on social media, wondering whether he would provide midfield with a boost on an attacking front.
The Welshman is a talent, and although he seems to split opinions at Arsenal his productivity record speaks for itself over the years really, but with that said I think manager Marco Silva would have to change too many of his plans to successfully incorporate him in the first team.
I can see the pull, but I don’t see this one coming off.
