Everton extended their impressive run of form to just one defeat in seven Premier League matches after emerging victorious against Cardiff City on Saturday.
The Toffees’ secured all three points courtesy of Gylfi Sigurdsson’s only goal of the game, while another clean sheet meant it was two on the bounce of Marco Silva’s side and now three from the last five matches.
Everton’s defensive line has certainly improved following the additions of Lucas Digne, Yerry Mina and Kurt Zouma in the summer, the latter spending the season on loan at Goodison Park from Chelsea, but fans have also witnessed a significant improvement from Michael Keane.
The former Burnley and Manchester United man struggled in his first season at the club but has established himself as one of the league’s top defenders so far this season, earning a return to the England set-up for the latest batch of international fixtures.
Saturday’s win over Cardiff marked Keane’s 50th appearance for Everton and fans flocked to have their say on social media. We have gathered some of their comments below.

Keane is the most improved player in the league this season from what he was like last season a big part of that is down to having a real coach

Another great 3 points, but not a good performance. Gana, Gomes and Keane were solid, but the front three look stale. #efc

Midfield 3 were class, Gomes the best player on the park. Keane and Mina solid again, another clean sheet. Could’ve been better in final third but three points and up to 6th… Onto next weekend COYB 🔵 #EFC

It was scrappy for the last 10 mins, but overall a dominant performance from #EFC. Gomes, Mina, Digne and Keane were all class today. Gomes MOTM for me. Good to see we can be physical when we have to and win ugly 💪⚽️
