Everton have improved significantly under the guidance of Marco Silva but a sequence of three games without a win proves there is still work to be done.
The squad at Goodison Park was heavily rejuvenated over the course of the summer window with a number of additions but departures also took place, although some only left on a temporary basis by moving on loan.
One of those players was 21-year-old Nikola Vlasic, who endured a tough time at the start of his stint in the Premier League and moved to join CSKA Moscow for the season – where he has shone in the club’s Champions League campaign.
While it was not enough to secure a spot in the Europa League, CSKA earned one of their greatest victories of all time on Wednesday evening after beating Real Madrid 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu – where Vlasic impressed by contributing an assist.
