Everton were held to a 2-2 draw by Watford on Monday evening, a result which extended their winless streak to three matches.

The draw against the Hornets followed a similar result against Newcastle United and a defeat in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool, showing Marco Silva’s side still have plenty of work to do in their attempts to reestablish themselves as top-half regulars.

One side plot for the game against Watford was the return of former Everton man Gerard Deulofeu to Goodison Park, who came off the bench to play in the final half hour of the clash and caught the eye of the home faithful for his approach to the game.

Deulofeu spoke positively about the club ahead of the match and applauded the home fans after the match, while also giving away his shirt – both of which led to vast amounts of praise directed to the Spaniard on social media.
