The EFL Trophy continues this midweek with the latest group matches played.

Previous results

Tuesday 24th October
Bradford City 2-1 Manchester City U21 19:30
Lincoln City 2-1 Everton U21 19:45
Notts County 1-2 Mansfield Town 19:45
Wigan Athletic 4-1 Middlesbrough U21 19:45

Wednesday 25th October
Yeovil Town 1-1 Chelsea U21 19:45
(Yeovil win 5-3 on penalties)

Among the schedule is one for us of course so the hope will be that this can result in a win.

Then again, which is more than possible of course, it could be a draw in the latest group game and that would mean a penalty shootout to determine a winner.

Some of the games taking place wouldn’t be out of place as a League One or Two fixture, others would be what the clubs involved would happily want to take place, well, if they weren’t against Premier League or Championship teams’ U21 sides…

Bristol Rovers, Forest Green, Mansfield, Blackpool and Charlton are the ones facing ‘bigger’ clubs as they take on West Ham, Swansea, Everton, Middlesbrough and Fulham’s youngsters – with the sprinkling of some senior professionals involved – respectively.

Fixtures

Tuesday 31st October
Doncaster Rovers v Scunthorpe United 19:30
AFC Wimbledon v Luton Town 19:45
Bristol Rovers v West Ham United U21 19:45

Mansfield Town v Everton U21 19:45
Swindon Town v Wycombe Wanderers 19:45
