With four Premier League games gone in the season of 2018/19 as new manager Marco Silva continues to try and work his magic on Everton’s first team squad, it’s fair to say there has been both good and bad so far.

Mixed results on the pitch have brought positives in terms of performances and Silva is yet to call on a number of the players he brought into the club given our late deadline day deals, so optimism does largely remain high.

At points though, 20-year-old midfielder Tom Davies can’t see to do right for wrong and he’s long been the subject of debate in the fan base. Some laud a greater return to form for him given the role he’s obviously been asked to play by the manager, others see no improvement from what you’d consider his breakthrough year at senior level.

With the September international break in full flow it was probably inevitable he’d become the subject of news again but if he’s doing the job he’s asked and Silva is content with that then I doubt we’ll see a change soon.
