With four Premier League games gone in the season of 2018/19 as new manager Marco Silva continues to try and work his magic on Everton’s first team squad, it’s fair to say there has been both good and bad so far.
Mixed results on the pitch have brought positives in terms of performances and Silva is yet to call on a number of the players he brought into the club given our late deadline day deals, so optimism does largely remain high.
At points though, 20-year-old midfielder Tom Davies can’t see to do right for wrong and he’s long been the subject of debate in the fan base. Some laud a greater return to form for him given the role he’s obviously been asked to play by the manager, others see no improvement from what you’d consider his breakthrough year at senior level.
I agree 100%+++++ so called Everton supporters who always point finger at Davies are not being fair

he doesnt need time, he has played enough games now in this league. his first touch is Not good enough, not aware of play around him

Just a crab in the middle. Horrible to think we have him when we could of had seri who gone Fulham. Davies should of been loaned out so he can play ever game then take what we can for him in summer

I expect Tom to get better and better and I am confident Marco Silva will give Tom more game time.

He's a talented youngster and a rotation player at his age. Back in your box lad

Can’t believe I’m about to say this.. but some Everton fans are disgusting in their treatment of Tom Davies. It’s like they wait for him to make a mistake so they can moan about him. A young Everton lad trying 200% harder than everyone else! I was embarrassed by some fans today.

Lad I can’t even defend him anymore. He’s not good enough it’s as simple as that we need to strengthen our midfield and Davies isn’t the answer. Throw him out on loan to another prem team like Bournemouth Brighton or Cardiff see how he gets on there

Was exactly the same with Ross Barkley.

With the September international break in full flow it was probably inevitable he’d become the subject of news again but if he’s doing the job he’s asked and Silva is content with that then I doubt we’ll see a change soon.
