Everton have struggled to find consistency in the first few months of Marco Silva’s reign at Goodison Park, hovering in a mid-table position after 10 Premier League matches.
Defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford last time out has left many in a bleak mood, especially considering the circumstances of the penalty won by Anthony Martial, but it is fair to say not all the supporters are under a dark cloud.
Other fans on social media have been discussing the improvements the club have enjoyed under Silva so far by comparing the stats from the opening 10 fixtures this season to the same stage last year – and there are key differences.
Ahead of a run of fixtures that includes winnable home games against Brighton, Cardiff City and Newcastle as well as tough trips to face Liverpool and Chelsea, many fans believe an upturn in form could be right around the corner.
We have gathered some of the best reactions below.

I know and we are not firing on all cylinders yet, for once the Derby could come at the right time?

Performances are massively better. That’s the one saving grace, hopefully a good January window will turn them into wins.
And a bit of luck (or just not bad luck)

I looked at our first match from 2017/18 against each of the clubs we’ve played so far this year. Instead of Fulham/Wolves, I used Brighton/Newcastle as they were newly promoted team this time last year:
2017/18 — 10 GP, 14 pts, -3 GD
2018/19 — 10 GP, 15 pts, +2 GD— Ray R. (@ASURay81) October 30, 2018
It was always going to be a transition season this one. But signs are good for the future. Frustrating things for me though, the daft pen Baines gave away ar Bournemouth, the points dropped against West Ham and Huddersfield, as well as the League cup game.
