Everton have struggled to find their feet in the Premier League this season and salt has been added to their wounds by the upturn in form of former fan favourite Ross Barkley.
The Blues signed Barkley from Everton for a minimal price of £15m back in January and the Toffees’ academy graduate initially struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge during the final few months of Antonio Conte’s reign.
However, the 24-year-old has excelled under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri to score three goals and provide three assists in his nine games this season – missing just one of Chelsea’s opening 10 and featuring twice in the Europa League.
That led to discussions on TalkSport on how Everton fans feel now after mocking his first few months in West London and it did not take long for supporters on social media to explain why they still feel aggrieved by Barkley’s exit.

I reckon Gylfis stats would suggest that he is, in fact, 3 times the player than ratboy

I turned on @RBarkley8 for the way he shafted #EFC who stood by him in dark times and following a leg break. He fleeced his boyhood club for money millions.

Sigurdsson 3 times better. Ross Barkley was supported by the Everton fans. Till we knew he was never going to sign a contract and go for 1/2 the amount we should have got. Let’s see if he plays well next season. Bet you he goes off the boil!!
