Everton suffered a 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon and Theo Walcott was one of the many players criticised on social media after underperforming.
The 30-year-old failed to create a chance for his teammates, failed to dribble past an opponent and was eventually substituted in the second-half for Fabian Delph as a result.
Imo it wasn't a penalty. That asides I thought Gomes, Walcott and Keane were terrible. Away record is so poor I don't reckon Silva survives #Efc

It astonished me today at how bad Theo Walcott is at controlling a football. He is bloody awful. #efc #bhafc #BHAEVE

Ugh, Walcott. Never looks like he's going to score. #EFC

Against Brighton, Walcott played for 71 minutes, made 33 touches, had three shots & two on target, completed 70% of his 20 passes, whipped in one cross, made one interception and drew one foul.
The England international shone in Everton’s 2-0 win over West Ham (October 19) but wasn’t as impressive over the weekend. Walcott has made eight Premier League appearances this season and has failed to score a goal.
He was reduced to substitute appearances in August and September but has been starting games of late. Walcott has only registered four shots on target in 2019/20, has made just two chances and has completed only one cross.
With Bernard sidelined with a knee injury and Richarlison playing upfront, Walcott could keep his place on the wing against Tottenham next Sunday.
