Everton’s hosting of Huddersfield Town at Goodison Park at the weekend certainly saw one controversial moment and somehow it seemed to be missed by all the matchday officials.
It wasn’t missed by Everton fans though, and a number quickly took to social media to highlight the event with calls for the Football Association to investigate the matter with the retrospective powers they hold.
The game finished 1-1 as Dominic Calvert-Lewin hit our leveller on the day, but Cenk Tosun had a good opportunity to open his own account for the year in the game but as the corner came, he found himself on what can only be described as a forearm smash from their defender Terence Kongolo.
It’s weird, you’d think in this day and age they’d have invented something where refs could go and look at replays and make better decisions. I guess I’m just a dreamer….

Kongolo clearly punches Tosun.
I wonder if the @FA will review this.— Paul Downes ???????????? (@CallmeDownsie) September 2, 2018
Four games in what's the foul count against us and stuff like this still is missed. Yet we the team with 2 suspended players? @premierleague @FA

I thought at the time from the other end of the ground how did he miss from there! Well now I know.

I sit in the upper bullens, that looked a pen to me all day long.

I don’t actually doubt that it was accidental, there doesn’t appear to be an intent to me but he undoubtedly leads with the arm as he looks to challenge for the header, but even as an accidental collision, I can’t work out how the officials actually missed it as even if you give some benefit of the doubt as say it wasn’t a red, it was most definitely a penalty.
