It wasn’t the result that Everton fans were hoping for as we hosted Huddersfield Town at Goodison Park at the weekend but there were positives that could be taken from the 1-1 draw.
Marco Silva’s side had to come back from behind in the game as Philip Billing opened the scoring for the visitors in the 34th minute, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin had us level two minutes later with our only effort on target.
It’s fair to say it was a very poor showing from our point of view and David Wagner’s side did far more with the ball even though they had less possession, but a clear plus point for us was DCL’s individual showing on the day and he’s now been directly involved in more goals for the club across all competitions than any other player since the start of last season. Eleven goals, and six assists as he continues to develop.
When Solanke grows up he wants to be Calvert-Lewin

One for all the haters this…
Since the start of last season, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been directly involved in more goals for Everton in all competitions than any other player (11 goals, six assists).

Calvert Lewin is better than Tosun

I've never been a fan of his but Calvert Lewin had a genuinely good game yesterday. I would give him a go up top at some point this season if Tosun is still struggling for goals.

I’d say Gabriel Jesus is probably on or just under Dominic Calvert Lewin’s level tbh.

The 21-year-old came in for great praise following the match on social media and the above is only a small selection of the positive comments that went in his direction. It also made it three goals in his last two games so big things are being hoped for from the lad for the rest of the season.
